Our family is naturally saddened by Karen's passing but, as the torrential rains of the night she left gave way to bright sunshine and the clear, fresh air of the long day that followed, our sadness will ultimately yield to the warm glow of her kind and gentle soul that entered our lives through our son James and his durable friendship with Karen and Gordon's son Gordie. We extend our sympathy to them, Gordie's sisters Courtney and Lauren, Karen's mother Natalie, her sister Tracy, to Jason, Alex and Victoria; but we also extend our thanks for the generosity of spirit and tenderness Karen shared with James through her tough battle and the loss of her sister Jennifer. Karen's late father James, we suspect, would be enormously proud of her courageous example and the inspiration she gave to her young neighbor James... With Love, The Sanders Family
